HAMILTON, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is announcing and inviting the public to comment on a proposal that will resurface about 18 miles of US Highway 93 (US 93), Secondary Highway 269 (S 269), Secondary Highway 203 (S 203), and Secondary Highway 373 (S 373), south of Missoula.
The project locations include:
US 93 from mile marker 46 extending north to approximately 2 miles past Woodside Crossing.
S 269 from Fairground Road northeast of Hamilton extending north and ending near Marshall Lane.
S 269 from Stevensville northwest to the intersection with US 93/Stevensville Cutoff Road.
S 373 from the intersection with US 93/Woodside Crossing east to the Woodside Crossing/Eastside Highway intersection in Corvallis.
S 203 from the Main Street/Stevensville Cutoff Road intersection extending west and north, ending near Wildfowl Lane/Moiese Lane.
Proposed work includes milling the existing surface, applying a new overlay, and finishing with a seal and cover (chip seal), upgraded pavement markings, signage, and minor bridge deck repair. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades to approaches and corners will also occur through Hamilton. The purpose of the project is to preserve the existing pavement and extend the service life of the roadway.
Construction is tentatively planned for 2027 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
