BOZEMAN — Montana State University is hosting an expansive university career fair on campus this fall, upholding an annual tradition that showcases both student talent and the many employers from industries across the state seeking to employ Bobcats.
Hundreds of employers from diverse industries will be represented at the Fall Career Fair, which is hosted by MSU’s Career Services. The fair will be held Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse on MSU’s campus. Doors will open an hour early for students who are veterans or others who may need accommodation.
The Brick Breeden Fieldhouse will be transformed to welcome thousands of MSU students. This year, there are new opportunities for alumni networking and presentations from business leaders.

“The Fall Career Fair continues to evolve to meet the needs of today’s students and the workforce. We are excited to welcome thousands of students, invite alumni back to campus and create new opportunities for C-suite engagement,” said Elizabeth Feary, director of Career Services at MSU. “These additions bring students face-to-face with industry leaders and demonstrate the power of connecting education to opportunity.”
The career fair is one of the strongest opportunities for employers to connect directly with interested Bobcats, and students should be aware of the diversity of industries to be represented, Feary said.
Businesses will be on site recruiting for employment, including entry-level positions, internships, part-time and seasonal roles. Local, regional and national companies are set to attend, including Montana’s own Lone Mountain Land Company, AgWest, OnXMaps, Bozeman Health, the city of Bozeman and State of Montana departments, as well as national organizations including Micron and Los Alamos National Labs.
Feary said the event shows the responsiveness of MSU to the industry needs of Montana. MSU is the training ground for much of Montana’s workforce and innovation economy, she said, and maintaining university-industry partnerships is key to ensuring MSU students learn the skills they need for success in future careers.
The additions of the Speaker Stage and Conversation Corner are expected to increase student connections with industry leaders who can help provide a better understanding of opportunities in their career path, Feary said.
Planned speakers include Christine Henderson, executive director of the Montana High-Tech Business Alliance; Travis Wood, president of Lattice Materials; Jason Yager, executive director of Montana Photonics and Quantum Alliance interviewing MSU alum Joe Janicki; John Speers, executive vice president of hospitality for Lone Mountain Land Company; and Dorothy Mayer, workforce development specialist at Nomad, among others. Check the Career Services website for updates on their speaking times.
Career Services is also offering a variety of events to help students get ready for the Fall Career Fair, including interactive drop-in sessions like Prep to Connect and Last Chance Resume workshops, and the 20th anniversary of the Margaret Alderson Etiquette Dinner. Students can find a full list of registered employers on MSU’s Hire-A-Bobcat, which is a job platform website. They are encouraged to prepare questions and resumes in advance for employers.
