The three Carroll Academic All-District selections are among the top student-athletes at the institution — both athletically and scholastically.
Hornby, a biochemistry/molecular major, wrapped up a highly impressive collegiate career last month at the NAIA Championships. The multi-time Frontier Conference javelin champion picked up his second consecutive NAIA runner-up finish, cementing himself among the best throwers in program history.
Shipman, a business: management & marketing major, has been one of the most impressive and reliable performers in program history, racking up numerous Frontier titles and All-America honors throughout her time on the Hilltop.
Wandle, a health sciences major, shattered the Frontier Conference pole vault record at this spring's Outdoor Track & Field Championship, capturing her second-straight individual title in impressive fashion. The standout sophomore was the NAIA national runner-up at the 2026 Outdoor T&F Championships last month, grabbing her second All-America honor of the year following a fourth-place finish at the Indoor National Championship in March.
The CSC Academic All-America® program is one of the highest honors in college sport, recognizing the best of the best across each sport, and separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Both Hornby and Wandle have been selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on July 15, 2026.
The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
