St. Peter’s Health Foundation has received an $8,574 grant from Independence Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines through the Member Impact Fund to support youth safety and patient care initiatives across St. Peter’s Health’s five-county service area.
Funding will help support the annual St. Peter’s Health Bike Rodeo, a free community event scheduled for May 30, 2026, in Helena, that promotes bicycle safety education, helmet use and head injury prevention for local youth. Participants complete riding obstacle courses, receive bike safety checks and helmet fittings, and connect with community safety resources for families.
The grant will also strengthen the foundation’s Patient Assistance Fund, which helps individuals and families overcome barriers to health care by assisting with transportation, appointments and essential recovery items not covered by insurance. In 2025, the fund supported more than 1,100 patients and families throughout the region.
“We are grateful for this partnership and investment in programs that help keep kids safe and help families get the care and support they need,” said Stephen Mason, executive vice president of St. Peter’s Health Foundation.
Kenny Martin, Helena market president for Independence Bank, said the bank is proud to support initiatives that “promote youth safety, improve access to care, and contribute to a healthier community.”
The FHLB Des Moines Member Impact Fund provides matching grants that amplify community investment through local financial institution partnerships.
