Butte boxer Kadin LeCoure scored a unanimous decision victory over Adam Axelson of Belgrade in the Main Event of the 'Black Ties and Black Eyes' Boxing event at the Copper King Inn in Butte on Saturday night. The show featured two amateur level bouts and two professional bouts. The event was sold out several days in advance.
In the opening bout at 170 pounds Erik Lopez of Anaconda scored a unanimous decision over Seth Albright of Billings. Lopez scored two eight-counts in the third round. In the next bout at 185 pounds Mike Brow of Anaconda scored a close decision over Jerrett LaFromboise of Butte in a three-round bout.
In the Pro Semi-Main event Anthony Curtiss, Anaconda held Spokanes's Sean Quinett to a draw in action packed 4 rounder. The bout was back and forth with both fighters scoring hard punches throughout.
In the Main Event, LeCoure, scored a unanimous decision over Adam Axelson in a four-round cruiseweight match. LeCoure scored two knockdowns and dominated most of the bout. After a slow start and early knockdown Axelson tried to get back into the fight but LeCoure refused to give ground. Axelson and LeCoure are regarded as two of the best cruiserweights in Montana. Both boxers were raised in Butte and were standout amateurs boxers with USA Boxing.
