The visiting Florence Falcons put on a hitting clinic against host Deer Lodge on Thursday afternoon, pounding out 20 hits and scoring 36 runs in a sweep of the Wardens.

The Falcons rolled to a 16-0 five inning victory in the opener, then followed it with a 20-3 win, also in five inning, in the nightcap to complete the sweep.

In the opener, the Falcons jumped out to a 7-0 lead after three innings, before pouring it on in the fourth and fifth, combining for nine runs to push the lead to its final margin.

Sarah Schurg and Natalie Dulac led the offensive charge for the Falcons in the opener, each going 2 for 4 with four RBIs. Dulac had a triple, and Schurg a double.

Shannon Byrne tossed a two-hitter for the Falcons.

Tierra Korang and Breanna Beenhardt had the Warden hits in Game 1.

Florence continued its offensive attack in Game 2, scoring at least four runs in each of its four innings at-bat to complete the sweep.

Dulac continued her big day by going 2 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs in the win, while Chloe Arthur added a pair of doubles and three RBIs.

Elena Carroll, Stacy Tiensvold, and Emmy Kunesh each had RBIs for the Wardens in the loss.
