WHITEFISH — In a tight vote, the University of Providence was picked to win the Frontier Conference men's basketball title in the Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Argos received four first-place votes. Montana State-Northern, selected No. 2, earned three first-place votes from the coaches.

They were followed by: Lewis-Clark State, Carroll College, Montana Tech, Rocky Mountain College and Montana Western.

Carroll advanced all the way to the NAIA national championship game before falling to Georgetown, Kentucky. The Saints defeated Lewis-Clark State in one of the semifinal games.

Guard Dane Warp of Carroll was selected the Preseason Player of the Year. The senior from Havre was an honorable mention All-America selection last year, averaging 16.3 points a game. He also led the Saints in 3-pointers (61) and assists (100). 

Other preseason all-conference selections were: Brandon Cotton, Providence; Taylor England, Montana Tech; Zaccheus Darko-Kelly, Providence; Mascio McCadney, MSU-Northern; Damek Mitchell, Lewis-Clark State.
