Montana Western point guard Brianna King scored 29 points, eclipsed the 1,000 career-point milestone and the No. 4 Bulldogs got back into the win column with a 73-63 victory over No. 22 Rocky Mountain College Thursday night in Dillon.
King’s total stands at 1,001 points through 50 career games.
The victory didn’t come easy, with Rocky holding a 17-11 advantage after one quarter. Western used a 25-point fourth quarter to pull away from the Battlin’ Bears and seal the win.
Savanna Bignell had 14 points for Western, Britt Cooper had eight points and nine boards and Cierra Lamey chipped in with eight points.
For Rocky, Kloie Thatcher and Markaela Francis had 15 points each in the loss.
The Bulldogs move to 13-1 (4-1 Frontier). Rocky is now 12-5 (3-2).
