MISSOULA — Class of 2021 prospect Scotty Washington has committed to the Montana Grizzlies men's basketball team.
The wing out of California hoops power St. John Bosco tweeted the news Thursday.
Washington had high-major offers that included Ole Miss, Mississippi State, TCU and two other mid-majors in Cal State Bakersfield and Colorado State.
Washington, a 6-foot-4 combo wing, has averaged 16.6 points in 17 games this season for St. John Bosco. He also has averaged 3.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals. Efficiency wise the wing has shot a respectable 35% from behind the arc on 102 attempts from distance and 45% from the field.
He joins a Grizzlies roster that also added versatility since the end of the 2020-21 campaign, and Washington fills a similar role that the Grizzlies coaching staff searched for with hopes of adding more multi-faceted wings this offseason.
