BOZEMAN — Taylor Pierce and Mikayla Ferenz combined to score 54 points and Idaho shot its way past Montana State 82-66 in Big Sky Conference women’s basketball Thursday at Worthington Arena.

The Vandals made 16 of 42 3-point shots, with Pierce and Ferenz combining for 14 of those. Pierce finished with 28 points and hit eight 3s, while Ferenz added 24 points with six makes from beyond the arc.

Juliet Jones scored 13 points for Idaho, which shot 42 percent (31 of 74) compared to 37 percent for the Bobcats (27 of 73).

Blaire Braxton led the Cats with 18 points off the bench. MSU made just 4 of 20 3-point attempts.

Montana State dropped to 8-6 overall and to 3-2 in the Big Sky standings. Idaho, the preseason favorite to win the conference, improved to 7-7 and 4-1.

The Bobcats travel to play first-place Northern Colorado on Monday.
