DILLON -- With former men's basketball head coach Steve Keller gone to Great Falls for the University of Providence, Montana Western has found its finalists for the opening.
Jerry Olson, head coach of Oklahoma Panhandle State; Colby Blane, Associate head coach at the College of Idaho; and Mike Larsen, assistant coach at Dakota State, will all be in Dillon to interview for the position April 23.
Olson just finished his 11th season at the helm of the NCAA Division II Aggies. Before going to Panhandle State, Olson was the top assistant at Montana State. While at MSU, the Bobcats went to two NCAA tournaments and two NIT tournaments.
Blane just completed his fourth season with the College of Idaho, having helped coach the team to three NAIA national tournaments. The Coyotes advanced to the quarterfinals in 2015, the second round in 2017 and the semifinals in 2018.
Larsen just finished his third season with Dakota State. The Trojans qualified for the NAIA Division II men's basketball national tournament in 2012 and advanced to the Elite Eight in 2013.
Outgoing coach Keller, whose Bulldogs advanced to the NAIA quarterfinals this season, compiled a 231-124 record during his time in Dillon.
