Real fiscal irresponsibility

Two major news stories currently dominate: the effects of the harmful budget cuts aimed at Montanans, and the denial of the State GOP leadership that they caused them.

The GOP deceives, saying they didn't make up the false revenue estimate that led Montana into a manufactured budget crisis and nor are they are responsible for their mandated fabricated/expected revenue shortfall. Sen. Llew Jones and Rep. Nancy Ballance continue to blame the governor for their misdeeds. By making cuts in SB261 permanent, into state law, they blocked the Governor from backfilling revenue even if revenue magically comes in. The most draconian cuts are to the Department of Health and Human Services, depriving the neediest, senior care, mental health and opioid services. They cut state finances to school districts so you local taxpayers will pick up the cost. Their agenda has killed hundreds of jobs in agencies.

Ever since the tea party took over the GOP agenda, the voters putting them in charge, they have created a revenue and tax problem to exploit their stories of "big" government abuse. Accurately, it is abuse of citizens. The National GOP representatives' agenda is the same with their tax scam. They increase taxes on thousands of working Montanans and give the top 1% wealthiest Montanans and corporations even more tax cuts, all the while adding trillions of dollars to the national debt, hypocritically saying they are fiscal conservatives.

It has never been more critical for Montanans to examine and confront every candidate, and know who and what you are voting for — the person or the party.
