More on climate
A number of people have rebutted my OpEd on global warming (4/2/2019). However, because of word count limitations, I cannot address all of these criticisms.
Suffice it to say that some critics, like Ross Whelchel and Brian Peck, have admirably done some research and presented arguments backed up with source data. One person just repeated mantras presented by the media and by politicians, such as 97% of climate scientists believe that humans are at least partially responsible for climate change. This same person apparently had to do much research to find out, according to his statement, “The earth is round. Vaccines work”. What a great argument to convince us of man made global warming!
The bottom line is, can someone direct me to a source that shows thermodynamic calculations of how global warming is caused by an increase of one part CO2 to every 10,000 parts of air in the last 59 years!
There are arguments on both sides of the global warming issue, but only one side is presented by the media and by politicians. “The Sky is Falling” types of crisis sells newspapers and gets politicians involved to try and take over more aspects of our lives.
I will be submitting a future opinion letter that shows the arguments of those climate scientists who dispute CO2 caused global warming. We must look at both sides of any issue.
As for the “97% of climate scientist” declaration, look up “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Global Warming” on Youtube. The whole video is interesting but look at the 16 minute mark to the 20 minute mark which explains where the erroneous 97% value comes from and why it is really only about 33%.
