Ed Lisac was a perfect example of what makes Butte great.
Son of a miner, part of an inseparable family, forged in hardship. After serving at the Battle of the Bulge, home with the wounds of war and a life in front of him, he built something from nothing, a business made on hard work and determination.
He passed that business to his children, who run it still with devotion and the hard work he demanded.
Well into his 90s, Ed Lisac was not one to let another man mow his lawn or plow his snow. There was no give-up in him and always there was the work to do, each God-given day.
He loved this place above all others, and he loved what makes it special – yes, the mountains, and the trout, and the elk, but mostly he loved the people.
Men like Ed Lisac built this town. Men and women like Ed’s children make sure it remains the wonderful place it is.
Rest easy, Ed. Thank you for your service, and know you sold more tires in Butte, America than anyone ever.
We are all lucky for your industry and your example.
