At The Montana Standard, we are thrilled to cosponsor “Global Crisis/Local Heroes,” the inspiration of Fr. Patrick Beretta.
This special partnership including the Butte Chamber of Commerce, St. Patrick and Immaculate Conception Parish, Glacier Bank, KBOW/KOPR Radio, Leo McCarthy, a generous anonymous donor and The Montana Standard, will select and honor 10 “local heroes” who have served the community in extraordinary ways during the COVID-19 public-health crisis.
So many people have calmly and courageously helped all of us through the time of quarantine, isolation and lockdown. To us is very important to recognize some of the outstanding people who braved the disease every day in order to keep the community as strong and healthy as possible.
If you can, we'd appreciate you taking the time to nominate a “local hero” you know – a friend, family member or employee who kept working in healthcare, in our grocery stores and other essential retail establishments, in education, in the restaurant and hospitality industries, in the media, in financial services and accounting, in public works and utilities, or any other essential area.
Nominations can be made at https://mtstandard.com/forms/local_heroes/
From your nominations, 10 “local heroes” will be selected. As the pandemic permits, we will schedule an event at which their stories will be told, and each will receive our gratitude and $1,000, to be spent locally.
