Emergency vehicle lights flashing, police car inspecting city, security service

A hiker who got lost in the Big Belt Mountains east of Townsend was found at the Springdale Hutterite Colony near White Sulphur Springs Tuesday morning.

Broadwater County Sheriff Wynn Meehan said the 67-year-old Jefferson County woman had started on the Edith Lake Trail on Sunday. On Monday, Meehan said she had called the sheriff's office to report that she was hypothermic and lost.

"Choppers started looking for her" after the call, Meehan said. Broadwater County brought a search and rescue team with dogs to look for the woman in the forest around Edith Lake.
