GREAT FALLS (AP) — A former Great Falls man accused of killing a 9-year-ld girl in 1988 was assaulted in the Cascade County Regional jail. Wilfred “ Bill” Eugene Morrisey suffered a concussion in the Friday afternoon assault, the sheriff's depart ment said. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and later returned to the jail. The jail went into lock down for a short time after the assault. Morrisey is now being held in the booking area to avoid confrontations. Morrisey, 62, had been fighting extradition from Colorado since his Sept. 3 arrest for the murder of Dolana Clark, but a judge cleared the red tape on Oct. 19. Morrisey was transported from Billings to Great Falls on Thursday. He made an initial appear ance in Justice Court earlier Friday and was ordered held on $500,000 bail. He faces charges of murder and evidence tampering. An arraignment date has not been set.
