A 17-year-old girl was taken to the hospital Tuesday night after she was thrown from the hood of a car doing circles in the Mountain Con parking lot and struck her head on the pavement.
Police did not know the extent of the injuries or her condition late Wednesday morning but say it doesn’t appear that she or three other teen girls in the car were drinking at the time. The accident occurred around 8 p.m.

The driver, a 15-year-old girl, only had a learner’s permit and was not allowed to drive at night or without an adult in the car, police say, so she was cited for driving without a valid license. The mother of the driver also was cited for allowing her to drive without a license.
Someone called police about the incident and the girl was taken to St. James Health Care by ambulance.
