Swallowing suspected meth
A 34-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after police found a baggie of suspected meth in his pocket.
Around 3 p.m., police made a traffic stop on a car in the parking lot of Fuel Fitness. Officers recognized Michael Morsette as the passenger in the vehicle and knew he had several warrants for his arrest. The warrants included criminal contempt, theft and violation of a release condition.
After officers handcuffed Morsette and searched him, they found a baggie of suspected meth in his pocket. Morsette then informed officers he had swallowed some of the crystal substance and was transported to the hospital.
Once he was medically cleared, Morsette was booked in the county jail for possession of dangerous drugs, a felony, along with the three misdemeanor warrants.
Disturbance at Town Pump
Police arrested a 60-year-old man on a warrant after he was allegedly involved in an assault at the Town Pump on South Montana Street.
According to police, they responded to the gas station around 2:20 p.m. on an assault call. Police said Everett Jones allegedly got into a disturbance with a woman in the parking lot area.
While officers were investigating this disturbance, they discovered Jones had a privacy in communication warrant for his arrest out of Butte City Court.
Jones was arrested on this warrant, and citations relating to the reported assault may be filed later, police said.
