Suspected prescription medication, DUI
Police arrested a 36-year-old woman believed to be driving under the influence of prescription medications on Tuesday afternoon.
Around 3 p.m., officers responded to an alley in the 2500 block of Elm Street on a hit-and-run call. A silver car had reportedly ran into a fence there, then left the area, police said.
Officer located the described vehicle and its driver, Rebecca O’Connell, on Grand Avenue. Police said officers “determined her (O’Connell’s) ability to operate a motor vehicle had been diminished,” and suspected she was under the influence of prescription drugs.
O’Connell could not perform field sobriety maneuvers and was cited for misdemeanor driving under the influence. She was booked into the detention center at 4:45 p.m. and released about two hours later.
