Punched on a bus
Police arrested a 53-year-old man Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly punched another man on a city bus.
At 4 p.m., officers talked with a man who claimed William Hesse had punched him in the face while they were on a city bus, causing minor injury.
Officers located Hesse near Park and Dakota streets around 5:30 p.m. and arrested him for misdemeanor simple assault.
Wanted and hiding
A 41-year-old man was arrested on a warrant Tuesday night after running from police and hiding in a shed.
Officers were patrolling in the 300 block of West Daly Street when they noticed Ronald Burd working on a vehicle outside. Police knew Burd had a $50,000 felony criminal contempt warrant for his arrest, so they stopped to talk with him. Burd reportedly ran toward the back of the 300 block residence.
After searching the area, officers located Burd in a storage shed. He was arrested on the felony warrant and transported to the detention center.
Swapping price tags at Walmart
Police arrested a 38-year-old woman at Walmart Tuesday afternoon for allegedly switching price tags around and purchasing $34 worth of items for $3.
According to police, they were called down to the store at 3:30 p.m. by the Walmart crime prevention officer. Police were informed that Magen Lanius had placed lower price tags on a handful of items, went through self-checkout, paid $3 and attempted to leave the store when employees stopped her.
When police arrived, they arrested Lanius for misdemeanor theft and transported her to the detention center. She was booked into the county jail at 4:20 p.m. and released at 6:15 p.m.
