Butte police assisted Probation and Parole officers in a search of Peppir Dean Sexton's residence on the 700 block of West Broadway Street in Butte Tuesday and reportedly found some things Sexton shouldn't have.
According to police, the search turned up what officers believe to be methamphetamine as well as a pipe used to smoke it.
That led to Sexton's arrest at about noon on suspicion of a felony probation violation, felony possession of dangerous drugs and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Runaway assaulting mother
Police responded to the 3200 block of Yale Avenue on Tuesday afternoon to a report of a 12-year-old runaway.
Officers were able to locate the boy, calm him down and return him to his home.
But soon after they left, police say the boy's mother called them back to the home, where she reportedly told police she and her son had gotten into an another argument and her son had responded by kicking a chair that hit her.
The mother wanted to press charges, according to police, so officers detained the boy for partner or family member assault and transferred him to a juvenile detention facility in Great Falls around 4:30 p.m.
