A woman punched her boyfriend in the face and broke his glasses after he refused to stop drinking, police say.

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1300 block of Missouri Street late Tuesday night and found Sydney Rae Schmidt, 20, on the porch.

She told officers that she told her live-in boyfriend to stop drinking, and when he drank more, she punched him in the face, knocking his glasses off. He related a similar story.

Schmidt was arrested on a misdemeanor complaint of partner/family member assault and was still in jail as of late Wednesday morning.

Run away, run away

Police who were looking for a stolen car came across a man and woman walking in the Centerville area early Wednesday morning, and when officers stopped, the man took off.

They caught up with Carlos Jesus Martinez, 30, on Transit Street and discovered he was wanted on warrants from courts in Butte and Belgrade. As he was being arrested, police found a pipe on him that was used to smoke marijuana.

He was booked for the warrants and for misdemeanor obstructing a peace officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was still behind bars late Wednesday morning.

Wanted on warrant

Tera Lynette Frye was arrested late Tuesday morning after police responded to a disturbance at an apartment on Broadway Street. Frye, 39, was wanted on a $1,040 out of Butte City Court and because she allegedly struggled with arresting offices, she was also booked for misdemeanor resisting arrest.
