Assault at a hotel
A 47-year-old woman was arrested Friday afternoon after allegedly assaulting another woman at a local hotel.
According to police, they drove to the Quality Inn on Cornell Avenue around 1 p.m. in response to a disturbance call. There, the victim told officers she and Virginia Lowney had been arguing when Lowney pushed her, causing her to hit her head on a table, police said.
Lowney was not at the hotel when officers spoke with the victim, but police located her later that day driving on South Main Street. Officers made a traffic stop on Lowney, spoke with her and determined she was the primary aggressor in the earlier disturbance.
Police arrested Lowney for partner or family member assault, a felony due to two prior PFMA convictions, and transported her to the detention center.
