Blanket burglary

Police arrested a 46-year-old woman for allegedly entering a home through a back window and stealing some blankets on Wednesday morning.

Around 5 a.m., police were called to a residence in the 100 block of West Broadway Street in response to a burglary that was taking place. A witness reportedly told police they saw a woman, later identified as Jennifer Shipp, enter a residence there through a broken window.

Officers located Shipp standing near the broken window on the back porch of the West Broadway residence.

In speaking with Shipp, police believed she may have been under the influence of dangerous drugs. Officers also located a few blankets believed to be stolen from the residence inside of Shipp’s vehicle, police said.

Shipp was arrested for felony burglary and transported to the county jail.

Alleged harassment at KFC

Police arrested a 47-year-old man on a warrant for harassing an employee at Kentucky Fried Chicken.

At 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, police served Thomas Ball with a privacy in communication warrant for the alleged harassment, which dated back to May 29.

Ball was transported to the detention center and released about three hours after being booked.

Protection order violation

A 30-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday morning for violating a protection order.

Around 1:30 a.m., police were called to a home in the 2000 block of Elm Street by a woman who had an active protection order against Cody Lucier. The woman reportedly told police Lucier was in her home.

When officers arrived, Lucier was hiding in a bedroom, police said. Officers located him and arrested him for both violating the protection order and for parole violation, a misdemeanor and a felony.

Lucier was transported to the detention center without incident.

Walmart theft

Police arrested a 36-year-old woman Tuesday for reportedly stealing $22 worth of items from Walmart.

Officers were called to the Harrison Avenue store area at 8 p.m. where a man and a woman had reportedly driven off in a truck with various stolen items. Police located the truck in the 4000 block of South Warren Avenue.

In speaking with the man, the woman and Walmart staff, officers learned the woman, Leta Matteson, had allegedly stolen shampoo, conditioner and hairspray from the store. She was arrested for misdemeanor theft and transported to the detention center.
