Arrested in court
A 61-year-old man was arrested Monday afternoon for allegedly violating a restraining order.
Police were called to a home in the 10 block of West Galena Street around 10 a.m. on Sunday, after Dale Gifford allegedly entered the residence and punched another man in the face.
A woman in the residence reportedly had a restraining order against Gifford, police said. Gifford was not in the area when officers arrived, so a misdemeanor warrant was issued for his arrest.
Gifford was in Butte City Court on another matter at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, and officers arrested him on the violation of protection order warrant.
It was allegedly his second violation of that order, and police transported him to the county jail.
Police said the man at the Galena Street residence Gifford punched in the face did not wish to press charges.
Jumping on a trampoline at 3 a.m.
Three young teens were cited for curfew violations early Tuesday after sneaking out and jumping on a trampoline that wasn’t theirs.
According to police, officers were called to the area between Massachusetts and Farragut avenues around 3 a.m. on a report of three suspicious people allegedly walking down an alley. Officers located two 16-year-old girls and a 15-year-old girl walking on a sidewalk in the area.
When asked what they were doing, the teens reportedly told police they had sneaked out of their homes and met in an alley to walk to Safeway but saw a trampoline in a yard nearby and decided to jump on it.
Police said the owner of the trampoline allegedly yelled at them to get off, so they fled the area.
The three teens were cited for curfew violations and handed over to their parents.
