James Franklin Wasson, who was already sentenced to 35 years in prison for high-speed chases, escape, probation violations and a standoff with police, got 10 more years in another case Wednesday.
But District Judge Ed McLean said the 10 years would run in conjunction with the previous sentence, so it effectively added no additional prison time.
Wasson, 30, had kicked down a podium and cursed at McLean during a previous hearing, and several officers had to pin him down in a courtroom chair when he was sentenced in another case before District Judge Kurt Krueger in September.
But according to a prosecutor, Wasson was cordial, polite and caused no problems when he appeared before McLean again on Wednesday.
In that case, Wasson was charged with felony criminal endangerment and misdemeanor criminal mischief for taking part in a car theft at Red Wrecker in Butte and trying to ram another vehicle several times.
He pleaded guilty as part of a plea agreement, but during sentencing, he kicked a podium, cursed at McLean and said he was withdrawing his plea.
A week later, Krueger sentenced him to 35 years for a string of offenses that included high-speed chases and a standoff with police that lasted several hours before it ended peacefully.
