Butte police are investigating the suspected suicide of a woman in her 30s at a residence in the 2600 block of South Dakota Street on Saturday.
According to police, they were notified of the death at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. It was reported as a suicide, but Sheriff Ed Lester said it will undergo an investigation, like any death.
“We investigate all deaths the same,” Lester said. “Investigators will continue to work on this incident and an autopsy will be conducted at the Montana State Crime Lab in Missoula.”
The Butte-Silver Bow Coroner’s Office said the autopsy will probably be conducted Tuesday or Wednesday of this week, and will tell detectives exactly what caused the woman’s death.
