Butte-Silver Bow Undersheriff George Skuletich said it’s not known whether Lowney was actually fishing, got a ride from someone else or just what may have happened. Search and rescue crews were combing the riverbanks in search of him Tuesday, he said.

Lowney is 5-foot-7 and weighs 185 pounds. He has blue eyes and short gray hair. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement Department at 406-497-1120.
