A Birney man has pleaded guilty to killing his ex-girlfriend.
Randy Lee Littlebird, 35, pleaded guilty in the Feb. 4, 2018, death of a woman at a shared residence. Littlebird admitted to the charges of second-degree murder, strangulation, and domestic abuse by a habitual offender in U.S. District Court in Billings on Monday.
The victim was Toni Fisher, 36, according to Rosebud County Coroner Frank Arb.
Littlebird faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. Sentencing has been set for Nov. 6.

Littlebird strangled the woman with a rope after arguing with her, according to prosecutors. He then told the other person in the home that she hung herself.
Littlebird was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in North Dakota in November, 2018 and later transported back to Montana.
Littlebird has four prior convictions for domestic abuse on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Montana.
