Christmas tree theft reported
’Tis the season to abscond with a Christmas tree.
At least that’s what two men, both of whom reportedly had a few too many at the Met Tavern, thought.
Just after midnight Tuesday morning, the duo had been causing a “minor” disturbance at the Met, and were asked by the bartender to leave.
They complied, but one of the men came back under the guise of trying to find a lost item. The bartender helped in his search. Meanwhile, the other man came in and took the bar’s pre-lit artificial tree and threw it in the back of his truck.

The tree has since been recovered.
Just before 1 p.m. Monday, police were called to a disturbance between a male and female on the 1400 block of Easy Street.
According to police reports, the male allegedly slapped the female several times across the face, then threw her to a bed and was choking her.
Officers arrested Clint Harrington, 26, for partner or family member assault (a misdemeanor), and partner or family member assault by strangulation (a felony).
