Police officers received a report on a stolen vehicle Thursday. At 10:30 p.m., they noticed the stolen car, which was a rental, parked at Safeway on Front Street.
The officers went into Safeway and found the driver, Megan Jo Gibson, 44, who was arrested for failure to return rented property, obstructing a police officer, and possessing drug paraphernalia (a syringe).
She was also charged with warrants from Dec. 2 – deceptive practice for financial gain and probation violation.
The day after Christmas, Candice Candelaria Webster, 44, was arrested on five outstanding warrants.
The warrants include one misdemeanor count from the Montana Highway Patrol, and four misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief from Butte city court.
Officers went to Webster’s home on Elk Horn, and she surrendered without incident.

Fight on Mercury
Around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Mary Celeste Gardipee, 34, got into a physical altercation with another female on the 200 block of East Mercury Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, Gardipee had left, but was found walking near the area and fled when she saw the cops.
Gardipee was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer, both misdemeanors.
Just after 4 p.m. Thursday, an unknown person threw a brick through a window of a home on the 700 block of South Main St.
Shortly before 7 a.m. Friday, a window was broken at 45 W. Park St.
There are no suspects for either incident.
