There’s around 1,000 special-needs people on waiting lists, receiving no services. Services for the developmentally disabled are bleeding to death due to over-regulated agencies and red tape. The answer is a free-market based system. All monies should be pooled and distributed to all developmentally disabled families and guardians, dissolving waiting lists. There’s enough money if we cut the bureaucratic agencies and allow families to purchase necessary services directly with no middleman. Productive agencies will rise, worthless will disappear. This will create new opportunities. The answer is a free market based system.
