I have noticed a slight increase in recent letters to the editor expressing the notion of growing respect for President-elect Donald Trump’s occupancy of the office of president, with which I agree.
I have to hand it to the president-elect in nominating General James Mattis for secretary of defense. Eliminating the inefficient time lag between a general’s service, retirement, hiring by defense contractors and the Pentagon’s purchase of war material shows vision probably only found in a businessman.
Trump realizes that there is little the American people abhor more than delays in the supply pipeline between the products of our patriotic corporations and the brave men and women defending our rights and privileges. The appointment of General Mattis should reassure the American public that the best military supplies will be developed, manufactured and issued for defense against the omnipresent threats of global terrorism.
While not exactly draining the swamp, the president-elect is showing decisiveness and taking action according to his vision for our future. Hang on for the ride!
