The Republican Party gave up on me. Donald Trump could not convey Republican ideals or their platform. All Trump could do was talk about a Latina judge, the biased media and how he was going to get even with the women that accused him of sexual assault. A man with that kind of vindictiveness should not be in the White House. I did not even vote for those that endorsed him.
At least the Democratic, Libertarian and the Green parties articulated their message and stance on issues. I did not know how the Republicans stood on the issues because I did not know which Trump was going to show up, off the cuff Trump or the teleprompter Trump.
Donald Trump and his arrogance, bigotry, ignorance and ugliness should be ghosts of America’s past. How can America move forward when Republicans cling to ghosts? The Republicans did not give up on me, they are giving up on decency in America. When did lying, racism and sexual misconduct become acceptable practices for candidates? As Americans, I think we can do better next time.
