Butte’s Chateau Quilt Guild’s biennial quilt show, “A Circle of Quilts,” is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Butte Civic Center Annex. It will feature the artistry of over 60 members. The two-day event will include quilt store vendors, gift boutique and public voting for your favorite quilt. In addition, quilt raffle tickets will be on sale both days. Adult admission is $2; children 12 and under get in free.
The 19th annual Spring Fling Carnival, Egg Hunt & Fun Run includes a 1-mile fun run and a half-mile kids run, as well as a 5K race loop which starts and ends at Silver Bow Montessori School, 1800 Sunset Road. In addition, the family event includes one of the largest egg hunts with 15,000 eggs, games, petting zoo, concessions, a raffle, and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit Silver Bow Montessori School (a Pre-K through 6th grade school). Race day registration begins at 9:30 a.m., the 5K race and the 1 mile fun run start at 10:30 a.m., and the half-mile kids run starts at 11. NATURE WRITING WORKSHOP
Montana State Parks and Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park will host a nature writing workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. in the park’s main visitor center. The workshop is designed to help writers of all ages and abilities improve their craft. Participants should bring a notebook, a writing utensil, a bottle of water, sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Coffee, tea, and cookies will be provided. Explore absorption, reflection, and other properties of light! Enjoy new exhibits - the vacuum chamber - and good old favorites including laser mazes, Galileo's Bells, and more.
YELLOWSTONE BIKE RIDE
Bike Walk Southwest Montana with gather at the bike camp on Overland Road in Dillon at 7 a.m. for a group bike ride into Yellowstone’s West Entrance. The group will have a trailer to carry bikes. Bring a lunch, water, helmet, proper clothing for changing weather and snacks. The group will return to Dillon around dinner time. Details: 406-925-3775.
