LADIES AOH DINNER

The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians will hold its annual St. Patrick’s Day dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, in the Marquis Vintage Suites’ community room. The cost is $10. A meeting will follow. Topics will include dues and the St. Patrick’s Day mass and brunch.

BUDDHISM CLASS OFFERED

A six-evening educational program on Buddhism is being offered by St. Ann's Parish from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at 2100 Farragut Ave. The class concludes April 7. Each evening will include video lectures by Malcolm David Eckel, professor of religion at Boston University. A group discussion will follow each lecture. BROWN BAG LUNCH

The Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives will continue its Brown Bag Lunch series at noon Wednesday, March 11, with a presentation by Billie Marinovich about growing up in the community. Billie's parents ran the Silver Bow Grocery, and her mother was postmaster from 1954 to 1982. Guests are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Coffee and water will be provided.

DRIVING COURSE

AARP Smart Driving Course is being offered from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at the Belmont Senior Center. This includes one hour for lunch. Details and to register: Nancy at 406-723-7773.

LEGION DINNER

Anaconda American Legion Post 21 will have a dinner celebrating the 96th year of the American Legion Thursday, March 12, at the Legion Hall, Third and Cedar. The social begins at 5 p.m.; dinner is at 6. The main course will be chicken-fried steak. At the dinner legionnaires will be recognized for their continuous years of membership.

The Wizard of Oz will be performed at 7 p.m. at the Orphan Girl Theatre, 316 W. Park St. The musical follows Dorothy and her dog Toto to the “merry ole land of Oz.” Ticket prices range from $14 to $18. Details: 406-782-5657.

BUSINESS WORKSHOP

Headwaters RC&D in Butte is sponsoring a workshop for a business owner looking to sell or an entrepreneur looking to buy a business from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, at the ALDC Community Service Center, 118 E. CHURCH SERIES

ST. PAT’S RACE

Registrations are now being taken for the Anaconda AOH St. Pat’s three-mile and six-mile races Saturday, March 14. Entry fee is $20, or $25 race day. Race applications and online registration at www.anacondaaoh.com.

CAKE WALK

The Virginia City Fire Department Cake Walk will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Elks Lodge in Virginia City. The family-fun event includes lots of cakes, a cash bar, cupcakes for the little ones, and a DJ spinning classic tunes. Proceeds go to the Virginia City Rural Fire Dept. Details: 406-843-5454.

FUNDRAISING BAZAAR

The Montana Kiwanis Foundation will have a series of fundraising bazaars from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, March 15, April 25, May 2, and May 23, at the American Legion Hall in Anaconda. Tables are $20 and can be reserved by contacting Betsy Pahut at pahuts@icloud.com. Proceeds go toward transportation expenses for children attending the Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp, which costs approximately $6,000 annually.

ST. PAT’S DAY BRUNCH

The annual St. Patrick's Day Brunch, sponsored by the Butte Catholic Community North, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 15, at the Front Street Station, 800 E. Front St. Traditional brunch fare will be served but will also include corned beef and cabbage. Lori Maloney is master of ceremonies, and Tom Renouard will be the featured speaker. GO DANCING

Butte Dance Group hosts a dance from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 15, at the Star Lanes Family Sports Center, 4601 Harrison Ave. Music of the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, polkas, Latin, waltz, and country by the Highlites. Admission is $10 per person. No membership necessary to attend. Details: 406-494-3251.
