Fast friends at the Tri-County Fair in Deer Lodge

Amina Cochrell, 3, of Drummond, made friends with this Hampshire ram at last year's Tri-County Fair in Deer Lodge. This year's fair continues through Sunday.

DEER LODGE — "Memories that last a lifetime” is the theme of the Tri-County Fair that opened Tuesday at the fairgrounds here with a full slate of activities through Sunday.

The 2018 fair is dedicated to Carolyn Pasha, who for the past 42 years has been active in 4-H as a member and leader. For more than 30 years she has been a fair board member representing Anaconda/Deer Lodge County and since 2014 has been chairman of the board.

Pasha loves 4-H, kids and the Tri-County Fair, and she has passed that enthusiasm down to her family over the years. She has been the horse superintendent at the fair for many years and as a horse project leader has given 4-H horse lessons over the years free to any member who attends. On Saturday, you will find her putting on the Junior Horse Show for all the little future 4-Hers.

Carolyn is married to Larry Pasha. Memories of a lifetime and their relationship started at the 1989 Tri-County Fair. Their children, Richard and Kellee, grew up in 4-H and you will find them still helping out at the fair as well as Richard’s wife Steph.

Hogan’s Rancher’s Agra will be honored as Business of the Year for their many years of support and involvement in the fair.
