Accident sends three to hospital

Butte Silver-Bow emergency personnel tend to a woman minutes after firefighters peeled back the roof and extricated her from a Mazda MPV Monday afternoon in the 600 block of South Montana Street. Sheriff Ed Lester said the Mazda was parked facing south on Montana Street when the driver tried to make a U-turn and was broadsided by a Ford Escape traveling southbound. Three people in the Mazda, two females and one male, were taken by ambulance to St. James Healthcare. The driver of the Ford Escape was uninjured. The accident remains under investigation.
