18 — The fifth annual Tap into Ennis Festival 3 to 7 p.m. at Lions Club Park in downtown. Tickets are $25 and include a commemorative cup, endless tastings and two full drinks of your choice. 3-4 — The Ennis NRA Rodeo begins 8 p.m. July 3 and 6 p.m. July 4. Two days of NRA-sanctioned rodeo featuring the top cowboys and cowgirls from the Northwest. This particular rodeo has been a yearly occurrence in Ennis since the early 1950s. For tickets: First Madison Valley Bank, 406-682-4215, or purchase at the gate the day of the event. General admission: $12 Adults, $10 Kids 6-12 and 5 and under get in free.
4 — The annual Ennis Fourth of July celebration starts off with the Firemen’s Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser at 6 a.m. At 9 a.m., there is a car show. The parade starts at 10 a.m. on Main Street, and follows a route through historic downtown Ennis. Horses, floats, marching bands, and classic cars highlight the annual event. Parade entry forms are available for download on this website or by contacting the Ennis Area Chamber of Commerce, 406-682-4388. At noon, a Veterans’ Memorial Ceremony will take place.
4 — Ennis Lions Club Fourth of July barbecue starts at 11 a.m. at Peter T's Park. The menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, chips and watermelon.
3 – The eighth annual Madison Triathlon is an Olympic-distance Triathlon which includes 1) Swim 1,200 yards in Ennis Lake; 2) Bike 23 miles on Highway 287 from Ennis Lake to Harrison; 3) Run 6 miles from Harrison to Pony. Details: go to www.themadisonmarathon.com.
10 — The annual Madison Valley Arts Festival is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Peter T’s Park on Main Street. The event, sponsored by the Ennis Arts Association, includes nearly 50 juried arts and crafts vendors, live entertainment, food, raffle, and more.
30-31 — The annual "Ennis on the Madison Fly Fishing Festival" will be held noon to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday in Peter T's Park on Main. Fly tying seminars, fly casting clinics and competitions, tackle dealers and exhibitors, angling art, and a kids program. Also featured is a huge raffle of top-of-the-line fishing tackle, rods, reels, guided trips, artworks and more. A barbecue rib dinner will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday and features live music.
