Cultural demonstrators wanted
WISDOM -- Do you have special skills or stories you would like to share? Officials at the Big Hole National Battlefield in Wisdom are looking for cultural demonstrators to share their knowledge with the public.
Big Hole National Battlefield will be holding Coyote Camp May 20 through 24. The camp allows students and teachers to visit the national park site and learn about the Nez Perce story. Past demonstrations have included weaving, flute playing, drumming, use of native plants, and many others.
In addition, the Summer Speaker Series is held June 29 through Aug. 18. Visitors can learn more about Nez Perce culture through demonstrations and stories given by volunteers.
Cultural demonstrators will be provided with housing, mileage, per diem, and honorarium as a thank-you for sharing their knowledge. If you are interested in participating in one or more of these programs, contact the Big Hole National Battlefield at 406-689-3155 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Application deadline is March 1.
The Big Hole National Battlefield is located 10 miles west of Wisdom on Highway 43. The site is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday during the winter and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily in the summer. Admission is free year round.
