School election judges needed

Butte School District #1 is seeking election judges for the upcoming school election on May 8. Judges are compensated for the time spent working the election and training.

Training will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 17. Details: business office, 406-533-2505.

Board meeting to be held March 15

The Rocker Water and Sewer District board meeting that was originally scheduled for March 20 has been rescheduled.

It will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 15, in the Rocker Community Center.

Hollingsworth named best speaker

This week’s best speaker at the Top O’ The Mornin’ Toastmasters’ meeting was Tonette Hollingsworth.

Best topic respondent was Sherry Flamand, and Denise Kagie was named best evaluator. The next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 12, at Perkins.

Alcohol service training offered

Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service Training Classes will be held in Butte on the following schedule dates by certified trainers Laura and Jim Cross and Jason Cross:

March 20, 4:30 p.m. — Business Development Bldg., 305 W. Mercury, 2nd floor, Education Room, Butte

March 22, 9 a.m. — Business Development Bldg., 305 W. Mercury, 2nd floor, Education Room, Butte

This class is for anyone serving or selling alcohol to include bar owners, bartenders, convenience store clerks, grocery store clerks, servers, and for special events such as festivals where alcohol will be sold or consumed. RASS classes are free. The law requires servers to be RASS certified within 60 days of hire and every three years thereafter to serve or sell alcohol.

Help needed on veterans photos

Members or non-members of any veteran-affiliated organization are asked to help identify people from the C. Owen Smithers collection of photos and memorabilia from American Legion Post 1.

This will be done at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at the Butte Archives, 17 W. Quartz St. Veterans’ help is needed and appreciated to accomplish this so Butte area veterans are not forgotten.

Men’s AOH meeting Tuesday

The Men’s Ancient Order of Hibernians will meet for their monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at Carpenters Union Hall to finalize plans for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

The induction of new members will take place prior to the meeting. The meeting will conclude with the traditional corned beef and cabbage meal.
