Get ready for ‘Pumpkin Sunday’

DEER LODGE -- Pumpkin Sunday will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Grant Kohrs Ranch.

Enjoy the fall season with activities for children and special programs and activities for visitors of all ages.

Visitors can participate in traditional seasonal activities, such as tractor-drawn wagon rides, apple cider pressing, and a children’s hay maze.  Sit around the bonfire and enjoy roasting marshmallows.  Visit the pumpkin patch where children 14 and under can search for the pumpkin of their choice. Participate in pumpkin painting, complete a scavenger hunt, create fun crafts such as making soap or candles, or take a tour through the historic main ranch house.

The Butte-Silver Bow Public Library Book Club will meet at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, to discuss “A Gentleman in Moscow” by Amor Towles.

Veterans’ dinner planned for Wednesday

The American Legion Post #1 and Auxiliary will have its monthly dinner Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the American Legion Hall, 3201 Wynne.

The menu includes chicken and spaghetti with salads and desserts. The cost is $8.  The hall opens at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30.

The public is invited. Short meetings will follow the dinner.
