DEQ dioxin presentation for Feb. 20 canceled

Department of Environmental Quality Risk Assessor Aimee Reynolds presentation on dioxin at the Citizens Environmental Committee meeting Tuesday evening at the Quarry Brewery has been canceled due to hazardous road conditions. Reynolds will reschedule the presentation at a later date. 

The entire CTEC meeting has also been canceled. 

Retirees’ breakfast set for March 1

ANACONDA — The Retired Men’s and Women’s Breakfast will be at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at the First Presbyterian Church in Anaconda.

American Legion dinner Wednesday

The American Legion Post #1 and the Auxiliary will have their monthly dinner Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the Legion Hall on Motor View Drive. The menu will include soup, cold-cut sandwiches, salads, and desserts. The cost is $6.

The hall opens at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend. A short meeting will be held after the dinner.

Marine Corps breakfast Saturday

ANACONDA — The Marine Corps League Detachment 1380 of Anaconda will have a breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Copper Bowl, 1500 E. Park Ave., Anaconda.

Cerise named best speaker

Top O’ the Mornin’ Toastmasters best speaker of the week was Bob Cerise. Best topic respondent was Denise Kagie, and Sherry Flamand was named best evaluator.

The next meeting will be held at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at Perkin’s. Guests are always welcome.

Dance Sunday at the Elks

ANACONDA — The John Fox Sound will play for a dance from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, at the Anaconda Elks Lodge.

Dance to music from the big band era, polka, swing, Latin and waltzes. Admission is $10.
