Central to introduce new uniform

Butte Central Elementary, kindergarten through fifth grade, will be having a fashion show at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Butte Central High School auditorium.

The show is to introduce the school’s new uniform. Parents are encouraged to attend. If you would like your child to participate in the style show, call the school at 406-782-4500.

Dish-Ability serving Korean burritos

Dish-Ability will be serving Korean burritos (pork, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options) from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Berkeley Pit Viewing Stand.

Spice up your mid-week with some delicious food all while supporting a great community cause. The non-profit pop-up food truck employs individuals with disabilities. Merchandise will also be available.

Library lists top summer readers

The Butte Public Library had 170 kids sign up for summer reading with the theme, “Libraries Rock.”

Fifty-two children finished the program, and the library had seven programs, with 801 children in attendance. The total number of books read was 1,846.

Top readers included:

Preschool: Anastasia Sexton read 107 books.

Kindergarten: Malachi Biegler read 62 books.

First grade: Robert Stefanescu read 77 books.

Second grade: Olyvia Pascoe read 64 books.

Third grade: Akaya Anzik read 204 books.

Fourth grade: Dakota and Malcom Moore tied with 51 books.

Fifth grade: Nancy Yong read 29 books.

Sixth grade: Wally Graff read 9 books.

If you did not attend the awards ceremony but turned in a reading log, you may pick up your prizes in the children's department at 226 W. Broadway. Details: 406-723-3361
