Butte Elks to hold memorial service

Butte Elks Lodge 240 will hold its annual memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3.

The following members will be remembered at the service -- Esperanza Andrade, Jack Hihnala, Dan E. Pizzola, William Austin, Thomas H. Zoeller, Donald F. David, Gary T. Chatriand and Robert Renz.

This is a brief and solemn ceremony to honor the members. We ask that family and friends of these members to attend. All lodge officers are required to attend. Coffee and cookies will be served after the ceremony.

Santa Paws at mall Dec. 9-10

Butte Spay Neuter Task Force will have its Santa Paws fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 9 and 10, at the Butte Plaza Mall.

Photos may be with pets and Santa Paws, or with people, pets and Santa Paws. Pets, large and small, must be on leashes or in cages. The pet owner will receive two 5x7-inch photos for $16.

Proceeds go toward spay/neuter assistance certificates, which provides $30-off certificates to folks that need a little help getting their pets spayed or neutered at a local veterinarian.

‘Rally for Rotary’ planned

The Rotary Club of Butte will be conducting a "Rally for Rotary" at noon Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Butte Country Club.

LAOH banquet set for Dec. 11

The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians will have its Christmas banquet Monday, Dec. 11, at the Butte Country Club.

A no-host cocktail party starts at 5:30 p.m., and the banquet begins at 6. The cost is $30. Reservations are required by Dec. 4 by calling Deanna Thomas at 406-782 4435 or Jule Walsh at 406-490 9500.

Driving course set for Dec. 14

AARP Smart Driving Course is being offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at the Belmont Senior Center. This includes one hour for lunch. Details and to register, call 406-723-7773.

Elks dance to be held Dec. 10

A dance will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Elks Lodge, corner of Montana and Galena.

Music will be by "The John Fox Sound," who plays numerous favorite dance and listening music on his keyboard. The event is open to the public, and the cover charge is $10. The bar will also be open.

Standard looking for Santa photos

Remember when you were a kid and you couldn't wait to sit on Santa's lap so you could tell him all the things you "just had to have" for Christmas?

Sometimes a photograph was taken to capture the moment.
