‘Dress a Child’ event Aug. 22

United Way of Butte and Anaconda will hold its 2019 Dress a Child event on Thursday, Aug. 22. The Dress a Child event’s goal is to ensure that many of our area students begin their school year with new clothing to start the year on par with their peers.

Families in need of help with the purchase of their children’s school clothes and meet financial requirements are encouraged to submit an application.

United Way of Butte and Anaconda is also recruiting volunteers to be “Shopping Buddies” to assist one-on-one with each student. Each “Shopping Buddy” will ensure that each student spends the allotted $100 on basics such as socks and shoes, undergarments, outerwear and then on school appropriate clothing of the students’ choice.

If you need assistance or want to volunteer or help dress another child, call the United Way office at 406-782-1255, visit their website at www.uwbutteanaconda.org, or stop by at 1880 Harrison Ave. (lower Level/main branch of Glacier Bank).
