Kick-off event at Bert Mooney Airport

The public is invited to attend a kick-off event, “Flight Night & Bites” at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the Bert Mooney Airport.

The event is hosted by the Butte Chamber of Commerce, BLDC, Headwaters RCD, Butte Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Butte-Silver Bow.

Fly Butte will be sharing information regarding the initiative including the Minimum Flight Guarantee in a community-wide goal for bringing additional flights into Butte. This event will also serve as the first opportunity to participate in the capital campaign fundraiser and will be accepting proceeds towards the flight guarantee by personal or corporate donor contributions.

Additional flights to and from Butte require Minimum Revenue Guarantee Contracts (MRG). MRGs are a tool for communities to partner with airlines in sharing the risk of adding flights in new, untested markets. Funds are only transferred to the airline when flights under-perform and do not cover costs.
