Garden club speakers at archives

The Butte Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Butte-Silver Bow Archives, 17 W. Quartz St.

Two programs will be presented. Mary Baughn will lead each member in making a basic line floral design following principles and elements of design. There is no cost for materials in making your line design.

Baughn is an accredited garden club flower show judge from Three Forks.

A second program will be about correctly planting a tree, including appropriate soils, staking and root-cutting

New members are welcome. The club will pay the $20 dues for the first year. Details: Norman DeNeal, 406-723-6656 or email denealnorman@gmail.com.

Kiwanis recognition program begins

The Butte Sunrise Kiwanis began its Community Recognition Program this month. The club will honor a person, persons, organization, or business they feel has done something outstanding for the children or community of Butte. Each month they will present a certificate and an invitation for their breakfast to the recipient(s).

This month they honored Colt and Keelie Anderson for all their work with the children of Butte.
