Baby shower at KC Hall

A “Community Baby Shower” will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at the Knights of Columbus, 224 W. Park St.

The free event is for pregnant moms-to-be or new moms with a baby six months or younger. Hosted by United Way of Butte and Anaconda, and the Healthy Family Network of Butte, there will be food, games, gifts and awesome prizes.

Nurses’ banquet set for April 28

The annual St. James School of Nursing Alumni banquet will be held Saturday, April 28, at the Butte Country Club. There will be a no-host cocktail party at 6 p.m., and dinner is at 6:30 p.m. The cost of dinner is $25. All nurses are welcome.

Reservations for the banquet are required by April 20. Reservations cancelled after April 20 must be paid for. Call Deanna Thomas at 406-782-4435.

Toastmasters list winners

This week’s best topic respondent was John Grill, and Joe McBride was named best evaluator at the Top O’ The Mornin’ Toastmasters’ meeting.

Best speakers were Grill and Lorri DePlazes. The next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 26, at Perkins.

Good Friday breakfast planned

The Member Nurture Committee of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church will host the annual Women's Ecumenical Good Friday Prayer Breakfast Friday, March 30, at the Aldersgate Fellowship Hall. 1620 Thornton. Doors will open at 6:30 a.m., and the event begins at 7 a.m.

The meal includes a continental breakfast with egg casseroles (including meatless options), coffee, tea and juice. The cost is $8.

The program includes music and the guest speaker will be Aldersgate’s new pastor, Melissa Engel.
